Look Away — Smart breaks for healthy eyes and a focused mind
When it comes to productivity, the atmosphere you create around you is just as important as the tools you use. This includes the sounds you listen to while working, too.
For instance, many people feel productive when surrounded by the sound of nature, or urban noise of the city, or just the rain pouring down. Lucky for us, there are a lot of online tools that let you play these sounds, also called ambient sounds.
What’s best though is a native Mac app that lets you play these sounds. An open-source and free app called Blankie that I recently stumbled upon does exactly that.
As you can tell, Blankie gives you a set of different sounds from Rain, Storm, Wind, to City, Coffee Shop, Pink Noise, and more in a sleek interface. You can mix and match these sounds to create your own ambient sound mix. You can also save the mix as a preset and use it later. The app is minimalistic and doesn’t get in your way. It also has the support for more than 7 languages.
